Local bridge renewal projects


Three new Tasmanian bridge projects will be delivered for the North-West and West Coasts under the Federal Government’s Bridges Renewal Programme.


Liberal Senator for Tasmania Stephen Parry said $870,000 will be provided under this round of the programme towards the replacement of three local bridges:


- Zeehan Rivulet Bridge

- Gawler River Bridge
- Stoney Point Creek Bridge

“The Australian Government works closely with the community to identify key bridges for replacement,” Senator Parry said.


“The financial commitment from the Commonwealth will be matched by the successful proponents, in this case the Central Coast and Circular Head Councils and the Department of State Growth.


“The bridge replacements are designed to increase connectivity in the region by improving driving conditions for residents and visitors alike.”


The Bridges Renewal Programme delivers social and economic benefits throughout regional Australia. This round will see $162.53 million in funding for the renewal and upgrade of 186 bridges nationally.
