Supporting Community Tree Projects

Circular Head community groups and organisations are being urged to apply for funds to start their own tree planting projects.
Liberal Senator for Tasmania Stephen Parry is encouraging applications under the 20 Million Trees Programme, which will see the trees planted across Australia by 2020.
“Grants between $20,000 and $100,000 are available for tree planting projects which will put back threatened bushland and support threatened species,” Senator Parry said.
“It’s an opportunity for members of our community to help look after our local environment and improve green spaces.
“The 20 Million Trees initiative is part of the Australian Government’s National Landcare Programme and I encourage interested parties to apply for projects which will provide valuable benefits to their local areas.”
Under previous 20 Million Trees funding rounds, Landcare groups and community projects across Australia have already planted three million trees.
Guidelines for Round Three of the 20 Million Trees Programme are now available and applications close on 15 August 2017.
