Supporting regional arts

North-West artists, arts workers and organisations are being encouraged to apply for Festivals Australia funding.
Liberal Senator for Tasmania Stephen Parry said $1.2 million has been made available nationally for arts and cultural projects focused on community participation and audience engagement.
“This is about expanding arts for people living in regional and remote communities,” Senator Parry said.
“The Festivals Australia funding programme is an opportunity to plan high-quality arts experiences, so I encourage local artists and organisations to apply for a share of the funding available.
“The programme is another example of the Australian Government’s commitment to supporting vibrant communities in regional areas.  It gives audiences access to a diverse range of art forms and ensures Australian artists and performers gain wider exposure for their work.”
The funding round is now open and applicants have until 20 October to apply.
